The TJK Design Build Staff

Ted Schlimgen – Field Operations Manager
Ted Schlimgen brings 30 years of experience in the residential and commercial construction industry to TJK. He grew up in a small farming community in the rural Barneveld area and, after high school, entered the United States Air Force as a weapons armament specialist on the B-52 bomber. After serving multiple deployments in the Middle East, Ted was honorably discharged in 2001 and then enrolled in the applied architecture program at MATC, graduating in 2003. In 2007, he began working at TJK as a carpenter, eventually working his way to part owner and Field Operations Manager. Ted and his wife, Alison, have three children – Zachary, Savannah, and Ella – and, in his spare time, he enjoys hunting, golfing, and any chance he can spend in the outdoors.

Darin Rahn – Field Superintendent
Darin Rahn grew up in rural Wisconsin working on dairy farms, and for the last 30+ years, the construction industry has been his profession. During his first 15 years of construction, Darin worked in public works, primarily on water and sewer installation for new subdivisions and municipal public works reconstruction projects. For the past 15 years, he has worked with us on commercial and industrial buildings, including new construction and remodels. Working for a design-build company has given him the unique opportunity to oversee all aspects of projects from beginning to end. Darin enjoys spending time with friends and family, and in his spare time, he and his wife chase around after their two sons, attending all their sporting events and activities. He also bowls regularly in a local league, helps with a local youth bowling league, and can be heard rooting intensely for the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and UW Badger teams.

Jacob Manke – Carpenter
Jacob Manke has over three years of carpentry experience and is excited to continue learning. Jacob brings a refreshing work ethic and is always eager to take on new responsibilities. He grew up in Sun Prairie, where he participated in various sports and the Boy Scouts. Jacob received his Eagle Scout badge in 2020 and, not long after, decided to start his carpentry journey in the residential field. He enjoys music, skateboarding, golf, snowboarding, disc golf, and hanging out with friends.

Tyree Starlin – Superintendent / Carpenter
Tyree Starlin is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and an avid Bears fan. He has over 20 years of combined classroom and field construction experience. Ty attended Madison Area Technical College as well as Moraine Park Tech, where he honed his skills and the craft he’s grown to love. He’s been a lead carpenter in multiple residential and commercial construction projects throughout Madison and owned and operated his own remodeling company for nearly a decade. In his spare time, Ty enjoys cooking with his daughters and grandchildren, watching a good movie, or just kicking back and listening to some good, old-school rhythm and blues.

Cody Olson – Field Superintendent
Cody Olson has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry and has a broad skill set. Originally from rural southwest Wisconsin, Cody has worked on many diverse projects, with highlights including SeaWorld San Diego, The Detroit Natural History and Outdoors Center, multiple Great Wolf Lodges, and other water parks across the country. His diverse project background and meticulous attention to detail bring valuable expertise to our team, especially as we continue to take on more diverse and unique work. Cody is a family man and an avid hockey fan outside of work. He enjoys spending time with his partner, four children, and two dogs, watching the Boston Bruins, and gaming.
